A loan helped to buy large quantities of sorghum to make local drinks to sell to his community.

Emmanuel's story

Emmanuel is 28-year-old married father with three children. He has operated a local soft drinks business for the past four years. He works every day from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., with only one other person to assist. While the work is tough and the hours are long, Emmanuel is committed to his business so that his children may prosper.

Emmanuel has requested a Kiva loan via VisionFund Rwanda Company to buy large quantities of sorghum to make local drinks to sell to his community. With this loan, he will earn more profits which will allow him to keep reinvesting for better financial stability, as well as to pay his child's school fees and medical insurance. The loan officer did not picture the client in his business because it was dark inside.

This loan is special because:

It supports entrepreneurs helping to rebuild Rwanda's economy.
