A loan helped to buy bananas to sell.

Angela Patricia's story

Angela is 21 years old. She studied as far as high school and lives with her husband and two year old son. In 2002, her family was displaced due to the violence in the town of Tame. They arrived in the city of Bogota, where a foundation for displaced persons provided them with the support they needed to set themselves up.

Her father worked as a general contractor and her stepmother in several jobs. However, due to the bad economic situation, and other circumstances, they returned to Tame in 2006.

Angela has been a very hardworking and entrepreneurial person, always wanting to get ahead together with her family. She has worked in different jobs and has awoken the desire to work in her own business. This is how she made the decision to sell bananas. Her sales have been good, however she needs a helping hand to collaborate in increasing her capacity and to be able to sell in other areas. This way, she can improve her sales and her family’s lifestyle. Her dream is to have her own home.
