Tesco Group's story

Abibatu is a 52-year-old mother of one child, aged 12. She is the group leader and is often described as a very hard-working individual. She is representing a group of five members in the Tesco Solidarity Group. Abibatu is shown in the middle of the picture.

The Tesco Group members are requesting for a loan a total of SLL 5,000,000, of which Abibatu is entitled to SLL 1,000,000, She will purchase more bags of rice, a gallon of palm and vegetable oil.

Abibatu believes she can have a better life for her family by continuing to work with ARD. With the profits from this loan she plans to save some for her child’s education, purchase a piece of land and increase her capital. She thanks Kiva for their support.
