A loan helped to purchase sacks of fruit, mangoes, and passion fruit to make fruit juice for sale.

Mwajuma's story

Mwajuma is a married woman with five children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past five years, she has operated a soft-drink business, selling fruit juice from home to her neighbors and passersby. She faces the challenges of seasonality and the high cost of transporting raw materials.

With the loan of 20,000 Kenyan shillings (KES), she wants to purchase sacks of fruit, mangoes, and passion fruit to make fruit juice for sale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.

This loan is special because:

It finances small entrepreneurs in the Kenyan coastal region.
