Adjara's story

D. Adjara was born around 1955 in the town of Bassila, in Donga County in northern Benin. She has been a widow for three years, and she is the mother of five children, all of age. Twenty years ago, Adjara got situated in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. She sells carrots, cabbage, salads bell peppers, parsley, cucumbers, etc. She has already benefited from two loans from ALIDÉ for developing her business. She wants to be able to respond to the strong demand of her customers. This is why she's requesting her third loan from ALIDÉ.

ALIDÉ means “there is always a path for the poorest” in Benin’s local language of Fon. Benin is a small West African country located next to Nigeria and has a per capita GDP of $1,500.
