A loan helped to buy farm inputs.

Naom's story

Naom is a compassionate, responsible, capable and enterprising woman who is 31 years of age. The mother of three children and a rural smallholder farmer from the Kenyenya area of Kenya, Naom is married to a fellow farmer. Her family's main income source is milk from their dairy farm. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities such as growing bananas, vegetables, fruits and grains.

The biggest problem that farmers from Kenyenya face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agricultural inputs, meaning that farmers' yields and incomes are far below what they could be. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Kenyenya like Naom can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Naom is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and improve the quality of life for her family. She hopes to improve the conditions of her house.

Help this mother to accomplish all her dreams with just a loan!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens and farming equipment.
