A loan helped to buy ten bags of coal and five 25-litre cans of peanut oil.

Rianath's story

Rianath A. was born in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Rianath is unmarried and has one child. Rianath abandoned her studies very early on to train as a hairstylist. She worked as a hairstylist only for a little while. Indeed, it is the sale of coal and vegetable oil that Rianath is involved in currently. Rianath has already obtained two loans through Alidé, which she repaid well and which helped her increase the volume of her business. With the aim of better responding to the demands of her clientele, Rianath is seeking a third loan through Alidé to continue developing her business.

The meaning of Alidé in Fon, the local language of Benin, is "there is always a way for the poorest." Benin is a small country in West Africa, next to Nigeria, and its GDP per capita is $1,500.
