Anna's story

I Ann Buchere Rioba grew up in Gokeharaka sub location,Bukira east in Kuria district in Migori county in Nyanza province in west Kenya where we boarder Tanzania in a family of six.its a place we grow maize tobacco and wheat for our survival.it does rain nearly throughout the year. poverty is dominant despite good climate conditions because most of the people are prone to tobacco effects thus less productivity.

I am in Nairobi city in Kawangaware living with my four children's after I moved in city when my husband neglected his roles and decided to marry another wife,I had to look for means to survive and take my children's to school and buy food for them.

I dream to empower young women to be self reliant and open more shops tp reach more clients as I retain them.

I ventured into business because my husband left me alone and my four children, i didn't want to engage in vices like others would want to do when idle ,I decided to volunteer myself to help a friend who used to sell ground nuts on road side at a charge of only sleep during the night, time came I wanted to start my own and my mind fell on what I am doing now selling every house hold item since market is readily available.
