A loan helped purchase 7 goats.

Monicah Wanjiru's story

My name is Monicah Wanjiru Njeri. I am 32 years old and a single mother of 1 kid. I was born in Nakuru district as a first born daughter in a family of 5. I have schooled up to primary level and I had to drop from school due to lack of schools fees.

Since I do not have professional qualifications, I started a second hand clothes business that I ran for 4 years before calling it quits. I was spending too much money to get clothes and could not make any significant profits. I then became a middle woman. where I bought goats from farmers and sold to butcher men. The business was doing very well and I saved enough money to open up my own butchery.

I now buy goats, fatten them and sell them to butcher men. I also slaughter and sell them in my own butchery.

I would like to expand my business to offer a variety of meat products i.e. mutton, chicken, pork and beef.
