A loan helped to pay for his money transfer startup business.

Makumba's story

Meet Makumba, a man trying to make a difference, as well as earn a living by honest, hard work. Makumba is a very interesting character. Just 33 years of age, this enterprising young man is a pastor, a community mobilizer, an entrepreneur, and an employer and mentor to his fellow youth.

Recently married to his lovely wife, Makumba just had his first-born child and is looking to shape things up and face the future with more confidence. He studied business administration and got a diploma, after which he worked for a company that deals in eyeglasses. He was quickly promoted to supervisor over his peers. However, he felt that his training in business could serve him better than the regular daily job. He decided to open a money transfer business with Zoona Money Transfers.

Mukumba is requesting a loan in order to buy into the Zoona franchise and set up his own business. He will provide mobile money transfer services to people in his community. He thanks the Kiva lenders.
