A loan helped to buy basic grains, cleaning products, soft drinks, sugar, candy, meat, etc.

Maria Milka's story

María is 68 years old and is the mother of six children. She lives with her husband in a part of the municipality of Choloma, Cortes. She has always worked to obtain her own income. She previously sold clothing and a variety of merchandise. Ten years ago she established her own small grocery store where she sells basic grains, sugar, lard, dairy products, chicken, beef, cold cuts, flour, soft drinks and others.

She has requested a number of loans from ODEF and she is currently requesting another for 30,000 HNL to continue keeping her business active. She will buy basic grains, cleaning products, soft drinks, sugar, candy, meat, etc. to be able to continue with her sales.

Her goals are to expand her business, renovate her house, pay off some debt and provide her children with a better education.
