Santos lives only with his wife, as his children now live in other places. He has adopted the basic grain crops as a source of income and also as an alternative to give his family better food. He starts work very early in the morning. He learned this job from his parents and has done this work all of his life. His big advantage is that he works on his own land.
Santos is asking for a loan because of the need to do the agricultural jobs this season. He will buy fertilizer, insecticides, and herbicides so that the basic grain crops give him a more abundant harvest. He hopes to be able to serve more people in his business and thus get more income. His aspirations are to grow more grains to be able to survive with his family.
