Shirley Yamilet's story

The credit group Oro Verde meets every two weeks in the Perpetuo Socorro neighborhood in the city of Manta, which is known for its beautiful beaches frequented year-round by tourists. The majority of residents in this town make a living from fishing and other work at sea.

Shirley, 21, lives here. She is single and lives in her parents' house. She has been through four cycles with the credit group and likes it because the loans are always very helpful.

Shirley is a young woman who likes to work so that she can create a better future for herself. With her earnings, she helps her parents who have limited resources. She makes a living selling Yanbal products (perfumes, creams, and costume jewelry, among other things) door-to-door.

She goes out three or four days a week offering her products which she leaves on credit and collects every week. Thanks to the loans, she can buy products on sale and sell them at normal prices, bringing in good earnings. She has been in this business for three years and loves it.

This loan is to buy creams, perfumes, costume jewelry and cosmetics. She dreams of having her own house.
