A loan helped to purchase more coconut shells.

Susana's story

Susana is a 62-year-old married woman with three grown children. She lives in the town of Cortes, Bohol. Ten years ago, she started producing charcoal to cover the needs and expenses of her home. Her work is done late in the afternoon. She prepares the materials like coconut shells put inside a drum or an empty container, then burns it slowly and covers it with banana leaves to prevent rain, dew or moisture from being absorbed.

She has requested a loan to purchase more coconut shells. In that way, she could improve her profitability. She could also start to settle her obligations and manage her finances wisely. She could now set aside some of the profit for future use, and the other for business expansion.

She is determined that she will be handling her business properly for sustainable living.
