Sokhea, 40, is a resident of Kampong Cham Province. She is married with two dependent children, one of whom is in school while the other is too young for schooling. Growing rice on a one hectare area of farmland is the main business of her family. In order to add more income, she works for others for a fee. Obstacles to rice growing include such issues as pests.
This will be the second time for Sokhea to work with VisionFund. She, the leader of a five-member group, will use her loan to buy organic fertilizer to improve her farmland. She hopes that she can increase the yields so as to meet her dream of buying an additional plot of farmland and continuing to send her children to school.
