Asifa Begum M.hanif Group's story

Asifa Begum baji is a 56-year-old widow who has been a citizen of Lahore, Pakistan for the past 50 years. Her husband left her with no financial resources. Asifa baji worked hard to survive. She has two sons. She started selling ready-made garments in the cloth shops. With the income that she earned, she opened a shop in which she sells ready-made garments, and then she handed the shop over to her eldest son. Her younger son sells medicine. Asifa baji is applying for a loan to buy ready-made garments for her son’s garment business.

Asifa baji is the leader of a group of five women from her locality. Samia Shahzadi baji wants a loan to buy thread to sell. Kishwar Begum baji wants a loan to buy vehicle spare parts to sell. Farah Naz baji wants a loan to buy a welding machine. Yasmeen Kosar baji wants a loan to buy beams for her shuttering business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

Note: "Baji," which means "older sister," is a term of respect for women in Pakistan.
