A loan helped to buy corn.

Heydi Jeannette's story

Heydi is 28 years old. She works at the household chores and the sale of tortillas in her community. She went to school until the ninth grade. She is in a relationship and she and her husband have a daughter. Her husband works in agriculture.

Heydi makes tortillas to sell. From the time she was a child her mother taught her to make them and today it is her source of income.

She needs the money of the loan to buy corn since the prices have gone up due to the drought. She needs to stock up on it before the price increases more. In this way, she will generate sufficient income to cover the family expenses.

Heydi dreams of building a larger area for her business and of making improvements to her house. She also wishes that her children study and have greater employment opportunities than what she has had.
