A loan helped purchase more beers, sodas, juices and spirits for his retail depot.


Joseph's story

Joseph is 29 years old and lives in the town of Mubende in the Mubende region of Uganda. He is married and has one child who is currently in school. For the past 3 years, Joseph has been working hard to manage his retail beer depot, which sells beers, sodas,juice,spirits.

To help expand his business, Joseph has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more beers and will help Joseph to generate greater profits and increase capital. Joseph hopes that in the future he will be able to open up another branch.

Joseph is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Joseph who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
