A loan helped to purchase a Zoona branded kiosk so that he can open another outlet to continue expanding his business.

Sausten's story

Sausten is a hardworking man in Petauke, Zambia who has spent the last six years in the mobile money industry providing financial services to people in his community. He is a 59-year-old widower with seven children. Six of his children are in school and his eldest son Ben helps him run the business. Sausten supports his family through his Zoona mobile money transfer business, as it is his main source of income.

Sausten is requesting a Kiva loan so that he can expand his business by adding another mobile money outlet. He has found a place in Nyimba where he would like to open another mobile money transfer outlet. He is excited to be expanding to the new location as this will help him to increase the number of outlets and earn more profits. The anticipated increase in profits will be used to buy a small piece of land where Sausten intends to start growing maize crops.

Sausten's dream is to keep expanding his business so that his children can have a stable future and in the near future, take over the business. He would like to thank the Kiva lenders for their support and help in educating his children.
