A loan helped to pay for fertilizer, natural pesticides, raw materials for dried fruit production.

Zaruhi's story

Zaruhi comes from the village of Jrahovit village in the Ararat region. The climate in that region is ideal for fruit cultivation. Zaruhi cultivates tomatoes and greens. Together with her family members, Zaruhi also is involved in dried fruit production. She lives with parents-in-law. two brothers-in-law, husband and two kids. Agriculture is the family's main occupation and income from it is very important for them.

Zaruhi asks this loan to invest in this agribusiness. She plans to purchase fertilizer, natural pesticides and raw materials for dried fruit production.

This is Zaruhi's second loan. Unfortunately the first loan, which she got from local financial institutions, was very difficult to return back, and there were some difficulties. However, thanks to her hard work during recent times, Zaruhi and her family have been able to run their agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that they will be able to cover the monthly payments.

Zaruhi has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and no access to credit products.
