A loan helped a member to increase her small newly established business merchandise.


Gevinor Group's story

Josephine is the featured borrower of Gevinor group. She got along with the other group members to acquire a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua because they have all became close friends since they left their hometown in the Philippines to seek a better income to support their beloved families.

Josephine is a 51-year-old married mother of three children. She has been working as a housekeeper in order to support her family back in the Philippines in developing their living.

Josephine provides her children with a a good income in order to pay for their education. Since her family's needs are increasing, she has decided to start her own as she calls 'mini store' where she sells diversified goods that she can afford to buy in order to sell to her Filipino friends during their weekend vacation. Through her acquired loan, she will increase her small newly established business merchandise and pay for her children education, and some of their living expenses.

Josephine is the first lady standing at the far right side of the picture, Jovita is the first from the left, Lourdes is the second from the right, Marilyn is the second from the left, while Bella is the lady at the center of the picture.
