María Monserrate Del Carmen's story

Portoviejo is the capital of the Manabí province in Ecuador, known for being the first and oldest city settled in the coastal region of the country. It is gaining ground in tourism since this canton has beach, city and countryside.

In this place lives María, age 43, married and with no children. Her husband is a farmer and they live with his parents. María works in a school as a librarian and also works selling Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and accessories for women).

She works at the school every day from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. She sells her products to her coworkers and acquaintances. She gives credit to her customers and collects every eight day. She has been doing this activity for a time now and has done it well. What she sells the most are perfumes and cosmetics.

This loan will be used to buy perfumes, creams and cosmetics. She has been part of the Grupo de Crédito for the past year and she likes it for the group’s unity. Her dream is to have her own house and continue working.
