Konimba, who is found on the second row in the photo holding the myAgro flag, is a member of a group of 16 farmers who have joined myAgro. They live and work in the village of Marako, south-east of Bamako, in Mali. Konimba is 46 years old and is the father of three children, aged from eight to 35 years old.
Konimba has been a farmer for 35 years now, because it is a family tradition, it is a principal source of income, it provides food for the household, and it helps the family be independent. Konimba grows corn and sorghum on his piece of land, but he faces many challenges, especially a lack of rain, farming materials, and quality fertilizer.
Konimba has started his second year with myAgro, and re-joined because of their payment system and their positive reputation in the neighboring villages. This year, Konimba will make payments to buy myAgro OPV seeds and fertilizer to grow corn. With an increase in yields and earnings, he plans to start raising poultry and goats.
Finally, Konimba wishes to cover his children's school fees and ensure his family's food independence.
