Beatrice's Group's story

Beatrice, pictured above, has been a farmer for 20 years and is now proud to represent her group of 11 farmers in Kakamega North District. She is 52 years old, married, and has 9 children.

Beatrice likes to think of herself as a very experienced farmer. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2014 and decided to represent her own group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to save more money.

Beatrice will be receiving a solar light, and she is excited because she will now be able to reduce the consumption of paraffin fuel and therefore save more money. She plans to use the profits from this coming season to buy a cow.

In total, Beatrice’s Group will receive seeds and fertilizer to cultivate 6 acres of land. In addition, they will receive a total of 6 solar lights.
