Jonathan's story

Jonathan, 25, owns a shop and an ice-cream shop. He started his business in 2011 in order to earn money to support his family. His mother helps him with the shop, since Jonathan has also a job as an employee in a granary, an activity from which he derives additional income. Thus, he contributes greatly to his happiness and that of his family, despite working 14 hours a day. He asks Fundación Mario Santo Domingo for his first loan, through Kiva, so as to buy food and groceries in order to have more products to sell and increase his working capital, which is not enough at the moment, especially to meet high seasonal customer demand. Jonathan has a very good relationship with his suppliers, which aids him in his investments. He still needs help to increase his stock and buy in bulk more often so as to get a better price. This is why he takes out this loan, which he will use to buy fresh food, tinned food, groceries, etc. This will increase his sales and Jonathan hopes for an increased income and a successful investment.
