A loan helped buy gold jewelry, perfume, and purses.

Ivette Mayela's story

Sra. Ivette is a long-standing client with Fundación Mujer. She has an excellent record repaying loans; she has had several with the organization. She is married, 66 years old, and lives with her husband. Her children have good jobs and are economically independent.

Ivette has worked in business for 27 years and is helped by a granddaughter. She sells all kind of merchandise including clothing, bags, perfume, cosmetics, and jewelry in the streets. Her suppliers are generally local, but once a year she travels to the USA and brings back products to sell.

She has good customers consisting of neighbours, family friends, workers from different organizations, and businesses. Her products are good quality, and she herself delivers them and collects the money. Sales are stable throughout the year but increase at Christmas and Mother’s Day. With her years of experience, Ivette knows how to look after her customers and they choose her over the competition.

This new loan will allow her to buy gold jewelry, perfume, and purses which are much in demand.

For Ivette this is a very important loan since it will enable her to generate more income for household expenses and become financially independent.
