A loan helped a member to purchase more goods and food materials for her small shop.


Badria Group's story

This group is called Badria. It consists of four women who live in Hodeidah city, Yemen. They applied for a loan of 175,000 YER from AMB.

Badria is the leader of the group. She is married with five children and lives with her family in a poor house. Her husband works as a motorcycle driver with a daily wage. She runs a small shop in her area, selling some simple groceries to her neighbors. Her grocery lacks a lot of goods and she is not able to meet the necessary needs of her customers. Badria turned to Al-Amal Microfinance Bank and took out a loan of 50,000 YER from AMB in order to purchase more of goods and food materials for her small shop.

Badria looks forward to having a large grocery in order to provide her family with a better living condition as well as to renovate her old house.
