Ricarda is 61 years old, married and has 5 children. she did not have the opportunity to study as she lives far from any school and it was difficult to get there. Her parents weren't motivated to have her study. She has been married for 40 years. Her husband is a farmer and sometimes works as a bricklayer.
She grew up helping her parents with their agricultural work and the housework. She worked with her father in growing corn and beans since she was 8 years old. Since she got married she has raised pigs and chickens to sell in her community and in the neighboring areas. Her children help her with the sales of tamales and bread three times a week. It is a lot of work as they live quite a way from the nearest community.
She is requesting the loan to buy a calf which she wants to grow and reproduce and four pigs to fatten and slaughter. Ricarda proposes to improve the floor of her house as she has small grandchildren and wants the best for them. So she saves the profits from the sales of tamales and bread for this.
