A loan helped to prepare the soil to be able to plant the last crop of corn.

Domitila's story

Domitila is very happy and satisfied with the financial help that she received from the investors through the Kiva in alliance with the COMIXMUL cooperative with her first loan. With it, she was able to buy materials such as fertilizers and more that helped her keep her corn crops clear and protected from pests and other things that can deteriorate the plant and the grain. Thanks to her first loan, Domitila was able to harvest 40 loads of corn which she was able to sell at a very could price in the local market, keeping a part of it to plant the last crop of corn. With the income generated from the sale of the 30 loads, she paid off her debt so she can ask for a second loan again with a lot of enthusiasm to prepare the soil again to be able to harvest the last crop of corn and keep expanding her crops and take advantage of the good weather that is favorable this time of year. Her goals and dreams are still focused on growth, diversification of products and getting ahead to be able to offer her children a better future and educational opportunities so they can be educated and get ahead with their families.
