A loan helped to buy agricultural supplies in order to plant 3,500 banana plants on a plot and a half.

Clara Luz's story

Clara makes a living growing corn, bananas, pipian, etc. She learned her agricultural skills from her parents, and when she got her first home she began her own business in order to earn the money to pay for household expenses. She has now had her business for 24 years along with the help of day laborers.

Clara lives with her life partner and two of her children; her other children live in the same community, but already have their own homes.

With the loan she is requesting, she will buy agricultural supplies to plant 3,500 banana plants on a plot and a half to improve her harvest. Currently, she has 2 plots of planted bananas. She wants to have a greater variety of crops so she can improve her future income, and expand her growing area.

Her dreams are to build her own house, to buy land that she can lease, to give her family a better lifestyle, and to diversify her crops.
