A loan helped to purchase livestock (two cows), fertilizers (12 bags) and animal feed (100 packs).

Susanna's story

Susanna is a widow from Aregnadem village of Shirak region. She lives there with her two sons. Susanna has been engaged in animal husbandry for a long time. She breeds cattle (including six cows) and hens. The family also runs a farm and cultivates wheat and barley. Susanna's younger son is a teenager, so only two family members are fully engaged in agricultural activities.

Susanna now wants to make some investments into her agribusiness to expand and make it more profitable. She has taken a loan from a financial institution before, but because of the family's poor conditions, she wasn't able to pay it back. However, over these years of tireless work, she was able to own her agribusiness, which is profitable enough to cover monthly payments.

Susanna has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have bad credit history behind them and have no access to credit products. With the loan's help, she is planning to purchase two cows, 12 bags of fertilizers and 100 packs of animal feed.
