A loan helped to pay for more souvenir shirts needed in her business.

Zaalicah's story

Zaalicah is a 29 year old woman. She lives in Coron, Palawan, Philippines, one of the areas affected when typhoon Haiyan hit last November 2013. Her partner is Nassir, a businessman and they have children. She and her partner manage their household while operating the business. They both work hard to provide for their everyday needs.

Zaalicah operates a souvenir shop store. Coron is a tourist spot in the Philippines and many tourists local and international alike visit the place because of the beautiful beaches and scenery. She sells souvenir shirts of different designs and colors. Her customers are foreigners and local tourists. Her minimum everyday sales is PHP 5,000.

To help her continue her business operations, she is requesting a PHP 11,000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy more souvenir t-shirts for her business.

Zaalicah dreams that her shop will have an extension and hopes to give her children a good life and education. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
