A loan helped to buy more maize and an electric milling machine.

Edward's story

Edward B. is 46 years old. He is married and the father of two children who are currently in school. He has been operating a corn mill machine for three years. Customers come to the mill to grind their maize, which they use to prepare local dishes like banku, corn dough, and kenkey.

His production is on a small scale because he doesn't have enough money to buy a machine for processing. Edward wants to use the loan to buy more electric milling machines to improve production. He believes the loan would help him earn enough income to finance his children's education.

Edward belongs to the Hyebenehi Trust Group. In this community group, members guarantee and support one another to repay the loan. His picture was taken after his group meeting.
