A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs, and give maintenance to her coffee crops.

Maylin's story

Maylin is a 30-year-old farmer who lives in a common-law marriage and has 3 children, all of them currently studying. Two of them are in middle school and the younger is in elementary school. Thanks to her parents’ support during her childhood, she was able to finish elementary school. Her incomes depend on her crops of coffee, corn and beans. Her life partner taught her this activity, and she has been doing it for over 5 years. She has a business, located at her own house, selling vegetables. The piece of land in which they have their plantations, was bought by her and her life partner. It is located 20 minutes from her house, and most of the work that is done there is performed by her life partner and a cousin.

Maylin has requested a loan to COMIXMUL to buy inputs, like: nutrí café, manure, plant fertilizers, etc. This will allow her to keep the crops safe from plagues and diseases by giving them more protection and assistance. Her goal is to improve her crops with the help of this loan, and obtain an excellent harvest at the end of the season. This will give her more incomes that she’ll use to keep supporting her children with their studies. With the profits, she also expects to expand her coffee plantations, since by doing this she is strengthening her children’s heritage.
