Margarita's story

Margarita is a native of Centro Poblado de Acari, Yunguyo. She is 51 years old and only had one year of school. She's married with six children, four of whom are married and two who are single. Since 2002, she has been a member of the "Faith and Joy" Community Bank in her hometown. She makes a living selling clothes (frock coats, sweatshirts, outfits and jenas), which she buys in the city of Desaguadero and sells in the city of Ilo, both at wholesale and retail. Along with this business she also takes potatoes, potato flour and beans to Ilo. She started in commerce at age 20, selling bread and fish in her hometown. With this loan, which she plans to repay in three months, she will purchase supplies (frock coats, children's outfits, etc.). Her dream is to buy a house in Ilo and set up a convenience store there.
