Romana is a cheerful and enterprising woman who has worked for a little more than twelve years making pastries. She says that she learned this activity because her children were little and she had a lot of expenses. She wanted to help her husband get her family ahead, so she started to make cakes, flan, and gelatin to sell in her community to make extra income for her family. During these years her business has gained popularity among the people in her community. RIght now, she works filling orders that people make for their parties, get-togethers or meetings. What she likes the most about this activity is that she was able to generate her own employment from home and she still has time with the activity and hasn't stopped liking being around people.
The people who have eaten her cakes say that they are the most delicious ones in the community.
She is 47 years old and only went to primary school. She is married to Carlos and he does agricultural work.
A loan from Visión Fund will help her to invest in buying flour, sugar, eggs, butter, yeast, and chocolate to continue with her activity.
Ramona is one of the members of a group called La Candelaria. It is made up of 8 hardworking people and is located in the community of La Candelaria and its main source of employment is agriculture and planting and harvesting sugarcane.
She wants her business to progress and for her cakes to be liked by more people to get more customers and increase her earnings and have a better quality of life.
