A loan helped to buy fertilizers for her farmland and pay labor expenses.

Khim's story

Khim, 37, lives with her husband and four children in a rural village of the Moung Russey district, Cambodia. One of her children is still in school. To feed the family, Khim and her husband earn a living as farmers and have been farming rice for several years. Sometimes, her husband supplements the income by working for others for a fee. The current business earns her family about 36,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.

This is the third loan for Khim with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. The past loans have helped her to improve her family’s livelihood. Now she is applying for another loan. With this loan, she is going to buy fertilizers for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on labor fees. She hopes to increase her crop yields so as to generate more income to improve her standard of living.
