A loan helped to purchase pagnes (traditional West African printed cloth).

Yewavi's story

Yewavi is a young woman of 37 years of age. She is married and the mother of three children, all of whom attend school. The eldest is 18 and the youngest is five years old. To contribute to the needs of her household, Yewavi sells pagnes (traditional West African printed cloth) that she buys from wholesalers in the Grand Market of Lomé.

With her experience totaling 11 years, Yewavi has a large number customers in the city due to the quality of her goods. As she can no longer meet the demand of her customers, Yewavi is requesting her second loan from WAGES so that she can purchase a supply of pagnes. The income Yewavi earns from selling her merchandise will allow her to reinvest in her business and ensure a bright future for her children.
