A loan helped to pay education costs for her children.

Gertrude's story

Gertrude, age 48, is a farmer. She lives with her husband and family in Fort Portal, Uganda. For the past 20 years, she has also operated a retail shop business to earn additional income. With the proceeds, she has managed to pay the school fees of her children, who are now enrolled in higher institutions of learning.

Price fluctuation and inadequate capital pose challenges to Gertrude, but she is determined to realize her vision of seeing all her children graduate and acquire reputable jobs.

Gertrude intends to use the loan to pay education costs for her children.
