Lucy, 41 years old, is a single mother and has her own house where she lives with her three year old son. She would like to provide her son with a good education. Lucy works selling catalogue items such as cosmetics, perfumes, and clothing, and she does this from her home where she has installed a small locale from which she exhibits her different products. She also goes out to the streets to sell her goods, and makes sales among her friends, neighbors, and family.
Lucy has been dedicating herself to this work for more than three years. She began doing this when she did not have enough resources to support her son, and in order to get ahead and provide for him decided to open her own business. What she likes about the job is that it allows her to have time to take care of her home, and at the same time generate her own income. In the future, she would like to buy a showcase where she can display her products, and for this reason she is asking for the loan of 2,500 Soles (Peruvian currency). This way, she will be able to buy new products such as perfume as well as clothes for men, women and children, therefore giving her clients better service.
