Thaem is a villager from a rural area located in the Battambang province’s Moung Russey district. She is 47 years old and married with five children, two of whom are dependents and still in school. He and his wife earn a living through farming rice on a 2-hectare area of farmland. Together, they can earn about KHR 27,000 per day from the current business and can save about KHR 10,000 each day for the future needs.
Thaem has been with VisionFund for five loan cycles and completely paid back the past loans which have helped him to relieve his family’s burden and improve their livelihood. Now he is leading his group of three to request another loan of KHR 1,400,000 each. As the leader, he is going use his portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for his farmland. He hopes to grow his rice healthfully so as to make a better living and keep his children in school.
