Bijay's story

Bijay is 50 years old and married to Rina. They have two daughters and one son, who they care for with love and dedication in their own home located in Odisha, India.

He was a heavy vehicle driver in Delhi, India. He lost his job when he was became ill. He pulls a rented trolley-rickshaw to support his family. He uses this trolley-rickshaw to carry waste products like polythene, iron, discarded glass/plastic bottles and sells them to a local scrap dealer. In this way he earns 4000 Indian Rupees (INR) per month and pays 25% of this income towards monthly rent of the trolley-rickshaw.

Bijay requested a loan of 15,000 INR through People's Forum to purchase his own trolley-rickshaw. He can save the rent amount and use it to repay the loan that he has asked for and become the owner of trolley-rickshaw in no time. In this way he can strengthen his earning capacity and support his family and see his children get a better education.
