A loan helped to buy six sheep, one cow, and fodder.


Sanan's story

Sanan is a 32-year-old man, married, with two children. He is an Internally Displaced Person and lives with his family in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. He breeds sheep and cattle and additionally sells milk products and meat. Sanan has more than five years of experience in this field, thanks to his father, who taught him the best way to look after cattle.

Sanan usually buys lambs, raises and fattens them in three to six months, and resells them for a more profitable price in the local livestock bazaar. Milk and yogurt, he sells to his neighbors. Selling milk and meat brings in 150 AZN income per month. Milk and yogurt are very popular products in Azerbaijan, as are beef and mutton. People use meat in everyday national dishes like pilau and dolma, and they always use yogurt. Milk products are considered very healthy, and they are also present in everyday life.

There is only one income in Sanan's family, and it is not enough to cover the basic needs of his beloved children. Sanan applied for a loan of 1,000 AZN to purchase six sheep, one cow, and fodder.
