“Amistad y Paz” (Friendship and Peace) is the communal bank Zelma’s part of. She’s 33-years-old, married and has two children. Her husband works driving a mototaxi providing public transportation services and she has a ‘salchipapas’ [fried sausages with fried potatoes] and hamburger stand that she’s had for seven years already.
It was thanks to her first loan that she was able to buy her food cart and a stove she uses to prepare this food. Gradually her business grew until it became one of the favorites in the zone. Thanks to her work she helps her husband with household expenses and can give her children an education in a good school.
For later on she’d like to open a restaurant at home and to do so needs to equip space which is what she will use the loan for to start this project fixing up said space. Currently, Zelma’s group secretary and she’s grateful to EDAPROSPO because thanks to its loans she’s been able to have her own business.
