A loan helped to buy clothes and cosmetics.

Rubia Lastenia's story

Rubia is a member of the communal bank "Renacer Uncovia." She lives in the outskirts of the city of Cuenca. This city is known for its architectural beauty, for which it has been named a World Heritage Site. It has many places to visit and beautiful landscapes, it has a large variety of cuisine which interests both locals and visitors. The people are friendly, kind and still maintain the culture and traditions of their towns.

Rubia is 45 years old, is married and has had five children of 24, 20, 15, 7 and 5 years old during her marriage. Her first two children work side by side with her and help her financially. Her third child is studying at college and her two youngest children are studying at a school in the city. She does not have her own house but is renting.

Rubia enjoys good health, as do all the members of her family. She is a shop-keeper and earns her living selling clothes, cosmetics of various brands and also sausages. She has been carrying on this business for 5 years.

She invested her previous loan in buying merchandise to continue with her business. She has not had any problem in repaying this loan and repayed it by the due date. She will invest this next loan in the purchase of cosmetics and clothes so that she can have a larger variety of merchandise. She likes the communal bank because of the cameradery which exists in the group and because of the loans which give her the opportunity to continue with the business.

Her goal is to have her own shop where she can sell her products.
