A loan helped to buy groceries and beauty products.

Martha Beatriz's story

Martha is a very optimistic and enthusiastic woman. She has three children who are already adults but she loves them a lot, as they do her. Martha's home is located in Parcona district, Ica, Peru. This district is noted for its hot climate and for the kindness of its inhabitants. Agriculture is an important business here, as is cotton growing. Whenever she has any free time, Martha enjoys chatting to her friends and neighbors in her neighborhood. She also likes to prepare her favorite dish which is the delicious 'ceviche' (fish marinated in citrus juice). Martha only managed to complete her secondary education but she would have liked to have studied to become a nurse.

Martha works in her business selling groceries and beauty products with a lot of enthusiasm. She works around 10 hours a day and can serve up to 25 customers a day. She believes that her business is doing well because she is very kind to her customers and also because she has a lot of faith and this helps her to make progress.

Martha is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to the help that they give her, she will be able to buy merchandise for her business such as groceries (rice, sugar, noodles, canned food, etc.) and beauty products. This will give her a larger variety of products to sell and she will be able to improve her income so that she can make progress and fulfill her biggest dream of growing in her business and making it bigger.
