Evangeline's story

This is Evangeline, 57, a resident of in Dasmariñas Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Josefino, her business partner and father to their children. She, together with her husband and children, manage their own household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Evangeline makes a living by operating a Xerox copy machine and selling school supplies other merchandize. She has been in this business for seven years and is very knowledgeable about the preferences of her customers, most of whom are students and young people who buy her products. She earns a minimum of 1,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) in sales every day.

To help her to continue operating her business, she is applying for a loan of PHP 19,000. She will be using the money to buy more school supplies and merchandise that she will sell. She expects a boost in her income as she expands her business.

Evangeline dreams of having a successful business over the years. As a CCT community partner, she faithfully attends the group's weekly fellowship* meeting where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners which gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
