A loan helped a member to purchase plantains and yams in bulk.

Odo Trust Bank Group's story

Esther is 44 years old. She is divorced and has three children. She has been selling roasted plantains and yams at Nyamebekyere, a suburb of Berekum, for the past two years. She deems it a big opportunity to expand her business. She wants to use the loan to buy more yams and plantains to increase her inventory. She hopes to improve sales so she can save more for her children’s education and also add another business. Esther belongs to the community group called “ODO” which means Love Trust Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to the loan and support one another to repay the loan.
