Maria Margarita's story

Maria Margarita was born in the city of Paucartambo, in Cusco department, Peru. She is 56 years old and has five children. She used to live in the city of Taray but, as a result of the natural disaster that happened there, she moved and currently lives in the city of Pisaq (Pisaq is located 50 minutes from the city of Cusco and is noted for its beautiful landscapes and for the fact that its residents work in tourism, livestock raising and agriculture).

Maria Margarita is a teacher and works in “Señor D. Huanca” high school, in the city of San Salvador. She has been teaching in the school for 20 years and is doing very well. Maria Margarita tells us tells us with a lot of sorrow that in February 2010, the city of Taray suffered a natural disaster since a river burst its banks, the residents lost their businesses and their houses collapsed.

Maria Margarita had a grocery store in the city of Taray and she lost everything as a result of the disaster. She re-opened her business in the city of Pisaq. On this occasion, Maria Margarita needs a loan to buy merchandise such as rice, sugar, noodles and many other products.

Maria Margarita is a member of Asociación Arariwa's “Señor D. la Agonía D. Taray” community bank which has been going for four and a half years and is doing very well.
