A loan helped to buy more commodities to sell and to renovate her shop.

Elvina's story

Elvina H. is a 26-year-old single lady who has been operating a retail shop in Takaye, Malindi for the last nine years. Out of this business Elvina earns a monthly income of about $188.

She has applied for a 3rd loan, after successfully paying her previous loans well and in good time. She intends to use the loan to add more stock to her retail shop, such as food stuff, soft drinks, cooking oil, toothpaste and many other commodities. She also wants to renovate the business premises with a view of growing her business so as to serve more customers from her place of work.

Elvina hopes to plow her anticipated profits back into the business, and in the future to buy a piece of land to set up a larger shop.
